Welcome to Gun Craver — a digital home for competitive shooters, firearms enthusiasts, and anyone passionate about gear, training, and staying sharp on the range.
At Gun Craver, we live and breathe the action of IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, and other dynamic shooting sports. Whether you’re just starting out or you're chasing a Master classification, this site is built to inform, equip, and inspire.
Our goal is to cut through the noise and deliver reliable, experience-backed content that helps shooters make smarter choices — whether for performance, defense, or fun.
Because if you're like us, you're always craving that next match, that perfect trigger press, or that piece of gear that gives you an edge. The name reflects the hunger to get better, shoot faster, and stay informed in a constantly evolving space.
You’ll also find match breakdowns and footage on our YouTube channel, where we document training, competition runs, gear setups, and behind-the-scenes content from real matches.
Whether you're carrying daily, prepping for your next match, or just staying up to speed with the firearms world, Gun Craver is your source.
Thanks for visiting — and we’ll see you on the range.
I’m Robert Craver, the shooter behind GunCraver.com. I launched this site shortly after diving into the world of competitive pistol shooting in early 2024. While I came into the sport confident in my gun-handling skills, competition humbled me fast—and I’m grateful for it. I quickly realized there was a lot more to learn, and even more worth sharing.
Gun Craver started as a way to document my journey through IDPA, Steel Challenge, and USPSA. What sets my perspective apart is that I’m not so far removed from being a new shooter. I still vividly remember the challenges, questions, and small wins that seasoned competitors might take for granted. That gives me the ability to speak directly to newer shooters through honest content that highlights the learning process—not just the end result.
In less than a year, I moved from Novice to Expert class in IDPA Carry Optics, and I continue to push myself on the range and in matches. My goal is to provide relatable, real-world content that helps others get into the sport, improve their shooting, and feel confident stepping onto the line. Whether it’s gear reviews, match breakdowns, or lessons learned the hard way—you’ll find it here, unfiltered.
Follow along to see the wins, the mistakes, and everything in between.
